66 Dash Clock Question

Is it possible to remove the little knob from the stem that adjusts the clock and if so, what is the best approach?

I may be wrong, but doesn’t it just unscrew?

Tried that but it did not seem to budge.
From looking at how its integrated into the clock, that would set the only way to get the lens off.

Take the bezel off and the screws in back and pop the clock out of the case. At the bottom of the stem remove the pin.

There is a hole in side of the case that gives you access to the inside of the clock and the stem assembly. If you turn the stem slowly you will see a pin that goes through the stem and clock assembly so all you need to do is straighten out the pin on either side and pull it out so the stem can be removed. (Be careful not the lose the washer that goes between the fork assembly and the stem as it is important to get it re-installed once you are done.

Of course I lost the washer...Doh!
For those that may be interested, I have documented my stupidity.

I have two follow up questions;
1) I need a new lens, I doubt there are available anywhere?
2) Was the coating on the clock hands fluorescent? Mine has cracked with age.

I'm unaware of anyone who sells the lens, but it might be worth to look into a custom glass shop that might be able to reproduce it. With all of the modern CNC cutting methods I'm sure someone out there is capable of making a new one for you! Thanks for the pictures, that's a big help.
