Timing cover seal

Post by Datsun AshLee »

Hi everyone, can someone please tell me how to remove the timing cover seal (round rubber) on a stock 1600, if possible without ruining it.

It's a press fit. The seal is pretty cheap so questionable economics to remove and reuse. Pushing it out from the back side is difficult without damage but you might try to heat the boss around the seal. That may expand the aluminum enough to use a pvc pipe from the back to push it out.
