Re: broken bolt in front of motor
Since you were tightening the bolt, it could have broken because of over-torque, the bolt could have bottomed in the hole, or you have the non-threaded part of the bolt against the block.
Since you were tightening the bolt when it broke, it won't be seized with rust so you might be able to break it loose by using a couple left hand twist drill bits. Drill a small one in the center of the bolt so that the larger bit won't have to drill its own pilot hole, then hit it with a larger one that should grab the bolt & hopefully back out since you are using a left hand bit. I've had bolts come out with just the pilot drill because of heat & vibration.
Good luck.
Peace,
Pat

I'll try that because easy outs aren't being easy ! thxHabitat.pat wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 10:21 am Since you were tightening the bolt, it could have broken because of over-torque, the bolt could have bottomed in the hole, or you have the non-threaded part of the bolt against the block.

Re: broken bolt in front of motor
good to center punch the bolt to ensure the drill bit doesn't wander!!

2X left handed drill bits. Easy outs rarely work. I have found that the square cross section extractors work much better.

Re: broken bolt in front of motor
I never got to this today but I've never used easy outs successful yet . I kind of get lucky once in awhile but I think the bill that's the only way I've gotten out but I'm going to try a hand driver . but these left handed twist kind , what ? I don't get those either . do u use reverse with those or do you go forward?? I never was successful with those either, on the drill ??
