just got a call from the mechanic, and he confirmed the brand new lower ball joints are toast. They were new ones just installed in February, so they're getting them exchanged & should have them replaced by early next week.

Toast does not make for good ball joints! :smt003. I think mine were like bricks.

I picked up the car today, the replacement ball joints are now working properly. Apparently, there was a bunch of bad ball joints from the manufacturer that all had the same issue. Datsunparts.com shipped out replacements to my mechanic right away & now the car drives & turns easily as I remember. I had a nice drive this morning on some twisties & the grin is back on my face, love driving this old car!

Glad to hear that things are good now. I was in on the group purchase several years back and have just installed them with some other new parts. I have yet to drive it but hope that mine are good!

No issues reported on the Rareparts ball joints from the initial group purchase.
Mine were the first set installed and they are doing fine :D
You are just getting around to installing??

Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

Yes, had them for years. Happy to report no issues, just did a short drive. Needs an alignment though, she was squirrelly in a corner I tested her on! Definitely did not feel settled like she used to, worn parts and all.
