I solved my lack of a center console. Rather than buying a core, then trying to restore it I simply reverse engineered one from pictures.
I figure the car is destined to be a resto mod anyway so why spend the money on what was a common failure point on the car.
I will add a billet cup holder rack above the aluminum package tray at some point.
Now that the interior is sorted I can move on to the mechanics of the car.
If the wiring the PO was trying to get away with I will be neck deep in problems very soon.
He actually grounded the after market stereo system to the positive side of the coil ????????

Re: Center console
It works for me. I don't need or want an ash tray or lighter in the car. Not to mention the cost of a restoration on a stock console in a car that is destined to be modified anyway.
