Here is the Denso write up in the tech wiki. I tried to condense it. Hopefully it makes some sense.

I am most of the way through this install and I wanted to double check a few things and have some clarification. I've followed both the 93mm alternator, and the Denso install guides in the wiki, but there are a couple points I'm still struggling with.

I'm working on a completely stock 67.5 1600, that has zero modifications to the electrical system, and had the original mitsubishi alternator with external voltage regulator. I have the 93mm alternator installed, and it is mounted roughly in case I need to remove for whatever reason. The wiring is the part of this I'm needing a little clarification.

In the 93mm write up, it shows the hot wire going to the solenoid, to what I assume is to charge the battery. In the Denso write up, it says to have the hot wire go directly to the original white wire that goes to the fuse block, which will then charge the battery through the harness.

I have ran one 10ga wire with fuse to the positive battery terminal, and also a fused connection from the hot to the white wire that feeds the fuse block.

As far as the number 2 wire, switched, that excites the alternator, I was going to connect the black and white wire that comes form the ignition system to the #2 post.

There is also the #1 post on the alternator that is getting connected to a charge light, then the fuse block per the 93mm write up, however on the Denso write up I'm seeing that wire get cut and ignored.

Hopefully this makes enough sense to get some input. Once I get this wired up, I'll have a little run through of my parts and what I did since I am both installing the 93mm alternator, and also tackling the wiring at the same time.

Hi Mike,
Yes please post your process once your questions have been answered. I am interested in the lower mount you used.
These smaller alts are very nice.

Back from a test drive and everything "seems" ok for the most part.

For the mount, I used the stock mount. It bolted right up and is perfectly in line with the belt.

I took the hot terminal and took two 10ga wires from it, one fused to the battery, the other fused to the original white wire that leads to the fuse block.

To excite the alternator, I connected the black and white wire from the ignition that was originally going to the voltage regulator to the #2 terminal on the alternator.

I have not done anything with the #1 wire yet, however I am going to run that to a light in the interior to let me know when he system is charging.

Only odd thing, if I'm idling, volts are sitting at 13.6, and when I'm idling over 1500rpm I'm getting 14.4v at the battery. I'm guessing that would be normal to an extent?

I did this swap as well and have been super happy with the look, weight savings and longevity of this alternator over the larger GM version. I went through 3 of the GM versions, lucky PepBoys deal was free exchanges.
Anyway, the pully I used was the Powermaster 181 V-Belt Pulley. It nicely machined made, easily available and the same pully you would get if you bought the PowerMaster 8172 alternator from PowerMaster.
