whatever we are looking at doesn't look normal - typically one should hardly ever be able to see bare wires - but I thought you had tried the clock against a battery - if it didn't work then, doesn't make a lot of difference about the state of the wire.

it showed polarity and would click on and off when tap to battery. but something's crooked too . a pin or something ... might be what's jamming up the works

Could go through the glove box by taking out the cardboard. Mine was so badly torn on left side that I went through there to access the clock. Your clock mechanism can be coaxed by turning the gears by hand by overcoming the motor. If it binds then your pivot points are not free. Definitely looks like it's ajar from your pic.

I haven't taken it back out to fix it but I'm pretty positive that's the reason why it's not turning .. it's showing signs of everything else being okay with the multimeter and stuff.. take a picture of the insides of yours and I bet it'll jump out to you.. good luck . I will be getting to it soon now everything is going well in the motor though..

I ended up buying another clock that wasn't working and soaking it in WD40, and now that one works.
