So I have the S and the B terminals switched corresponding to 1 and 2 position as marked on my headlight relay box, it appears.... according to the Wiki diagram, which contradicts the book. Correct?
Oh boy, this is fun lol....

Little hint, instead of putting glass fuse in box, just use a bit of 10 or 15 amp house fuse wire wrapped around prongs, until you get problem sorted, as it will cost you an arm and leg for those proper glass fuses ..

the 68 custom Color Wiring Diagram in the WIKI show the terminals as D M S B Not D M B S
Are your terminals marked?

WIKI 68 Color Diagram
I've tried both ways and it's not the reason my fuse keeps blowing . . maybe that should be my thread . .. which do u suggest I leave it at with the black wire on the DMSB order ? also are those acronyms for something? I'll remember better if I know what things break down to and how they work . I have a complicated mind .haha .

First let me say, I have not read through your posts.

OOPS,
Looking at your system, you have a PASSING LIGHT RELAY. Three wires RED/WHITE, RED, BLACK. Disconnect the RED/ WHITE and RED wires.

My suggestion would be to test the wiring from the relay to the head lights first.
On a 68, the headlights are switched on the Hot side of circuit.
Disconnect the Red/Black and Red/white wires.
Make an Extension wire of equal size wire to go to the battery. Extend the Red/Black wire so that you can "flash" the wire extension on the plus battery terminal. The high beams should flash on. If they do, than you can connect the wire to the battery and check to see if both sides are working.
Same procedure for the Red/White wire to check the Low Beams.

If this is Too Cowboy for you....LOL.....
Put a current limiter in the circuit, I have always liked an old school "Malibu" light....NOT an LED replacement. I tried to find one on the net, but maybe they have been replaced. You want something of about 3-6 amps, 18W-36W
You could use a Circuit breaker or even an old headlamp blub or fog light.

The light blub I would suggest is a PAR36 12V

PAR36 is 18W so it limits the current to about 3 amps. When the circuit is complete to ground the blub is bright, if there are other items in the circuit i.e. head lights the blub is dimmer.
