On the race car I sectioned and deepened the steel pan by one inch being inspired by the above aluminum pan. Make sure that you also extend the oil pump pickup by one inch.

These are some pics of the oil pan on my 1600. It looks different that the other ones I have seen. It bulges out at the bottom . Any thoughts on what this is. Is it a Datsun piece or is it a an aftermarket piece?

Hi: I am in the process of pulling parts of a 1600 parts car (67.5). I noticed it had a nice looking aluminum oil pan on the bottom of the 1600 engine. It looks like the one in the picture you posted. Would this fit on a 2 L engine?

The bulged pan is an RL411 pan. It was made to clear the crossmember and still have sufficient oil capacity.

Do you know what the oil capacity is on this pan. Is there any demand for this piece?

Keith did a really nice job on extending the pan, baffles and the oil pump.

Not a lot of demand for the RL411 pan as it fouls on most headers and factory manifolds. It is standard capacity - no increase in fluid.

Thanks. It occured to me that the engine in my parts 1600 was replaced at one point. I think it was replaced with a 411 engine.

Mcdaeth, Does it have a funky exhaust manifold?

Brian, why lower the pan rather than extending the front and eliminating the step?
