The 12" wheel is a part of the problem.

What did you end up doing in the long run? I am putting in electric power steering in my modified roadster.

Does anyone have more info on this swap? Have to totally revamp the steering system for my engine swap and a rack and pinion swap crossed my mind.

My car should be on the road before too long. I had issues with my steering shaft touching the air conditioning compressor using the kit from GoldHawg. It was a domino affect due to wanting larger tires and using larger body spacers on my frame/body to help with my transmission tunnel being replaced with new steel that made it tighter for the transmission. After test driving with a much smaller steering wheel, I knew something had to change. So I went with the Silvermine Motors 240Z electric power steering system and used universal steering shaft joints from Speedway passing through a heim welded to the frame. All of this is attached to the steering box. The steering feels fantastic in the shop but I have not had it on the road with everything installed yet. I had to change out the round stock going through the heim to a stainless double D shaft because the heim is very tight and will not allow paint. I cleaned up all the rust...
