Hydraulic fluids

Post by rgods »

New to Datsun Roadsters, used to have an MG. I have a repair manual, but no owner's manual.

What is the recommended clutch and brake fluids?

Thanks.

Fluids

DOT 4/5 brake fluid is what was used. I would clean everything out and run synthetic as it won't attract water and result in rust. This method is time consuming and could be expesive, but the savings will come back years down the road.

I like Castrol GT LMA brake/clutch fluid. It's a dot 4 fluid. Save the silcone stuff for true garage queens. My three cents!
