Brake Shoe Part numbers

Hello all, I am in the process of replacing brake shoes on one of my 1969 spl1600. I was so happy to find that Oriely auto Parts could get the shoes for me the next day after I called them. I was so happy that I ordered two sets (as I do have two cars). The part numbers are Brake Best 371. Well par for the course, most of the things that I have been able to order locally through Autozone, NAPA, and Oreilly just don't fit. I should have measured the shoes before I ordered, but I am no "Brake Expert" so I did assume that these would work. I see know the measurements on the Oreilly site are 8 X 1.38.

So, what part numbers are you all using? I can't seem to get myself to spend $99.00 on a set of brake shoes when I know that there are some aftermarket ones out there for $16 -$18. I have checked the tech section and most of those part numbers are NLA.

I am also concerned with the wheel cyclinders in the back. Should the 1969 have 13/16 or 3/4 and where is a good place to get these kits. Are the 13/16 and 3/4 interchangeable?

I believe the only cyls available now are the 3/4". I think I paid ~$60/each.

You could probably get your shoes relined. If it was me, I'd just buy the OEM shoes. Find someplace else other than brakes to cheap-out on.
Edit: 8x1.38 isn't even close to being right.

I looked at Rockauto sight ....Raybestos shoes 8x1.38 is what they list also. What is your shoe size that are on your car? Stay with the 3/4 wheel cylinders on both sides of the car. Look at ebay sometimes they have good prices and again sometimes they dont. Shoes and rebuild kits.

Been there done that...

I do currently have a set of 510 shoes on order. Should be in tomorrow. Will post part number as well as if they fit. Part number for these is Brake Best as well with part number 359 and measure 9 X 1.56 which sounds about right for the shoes I am replacing.

These are off of a 1972 510.

So, are the 13/16 and 3/4 just a swap out change? Or, will I have to do some brake line stuff to put the 3/4 wheel cylinders in. Have a place that can possilby get them for about $28.00. If they will work, I will pass on the link and part numbers.

No, I do not like to go cheap on brake parts, but we are talking about the back brakes here. The car will remain stock. So I just don't see spending $99 for a $20 part. (Yes, I know the research and time spent for vendors to find these hard to find parts. I also understand extreme markups). Although these vendors are extremely helpful as well as knowlegable it does come at a price.

I agree 100%. If the 510 shoes are identical and a fraction of the cost...why not? The measurement is close.
What I meant by cheaping-out was trying to find something that almost fits and working with it.
The 3/4" cyls are a direct bolt in (shim in) replacement.

According to the vendors the 13/16 is for the 65-67. The 3/4 for the 68,69,70.

FYI there is an error in the software used by almost every parts seller, including Rock auto and my local independent store that listed a xxx371 number. I got a great deal on 2 sets, which don't fit
The paper catalog is correct from the various manufacturers. The 510 shoes, XXX-359 is what is listed in the WIKI and what I used on the car and it worked fine.

You should have the 3/4 cylinders for your 69 as noted. If you have the 13/16, that is for the early car, as noted also. Or as in my case, one of each The 3/4 are definitely less expensive. Rebuild kits are available also.

Okay, got the shoes that I stated above and they fit. My wheel cylinders are fried....Imagine that. Yes they are both 13/16 and this is a 1969. I did also check my other 1969 and it to has working...lol 13/16 wheel cyclinders.

There are two Nissan Part numbers for rear wheel cyclinders and I don't know which is which:
44100-14600
44100-25500

don't know what size these are and I can not find needed info. Any help on this one. Or is there a supplier online that will make me a deal on 4....lol.

Rebuild kits from Nissan are no longer and I even tried a source through Japan, those part numbers are:
44100-14625
44100-73425

I know that NAPA can still get the ones for 3/4 wheel cyclinders.

Thanks for the clarification on the size K1200 and Linda. I am the 2nd, 3rd or 4th owner of these two cars and I am finding out that even though the Father owned one and the son owned the other that the parts are varing between the two cars. I am sure they did the same thing that I would have done back then and purchased what was available and or cheaper.

They are listed on E-bay frequently for $122 for the pair plus $9.00 shipping. I just bought some Beck Arnley shoes for the 510 and they worked. I got them at Advance auto parts for around $35.00. The part number in the wiki for Autozone is not correct. Those shoes are to small.

And just where are you getting this part number.....I searched a couple of Nissan part searches and came up with nil....

The 510 shoes that I ordered seem to work, but my wheel cyclinders are froze on this particular car and so I can not be sure until I get the wheel cylinders.
