Choke Pull Removal

Post by WHFred »

I'm working on restoring my center console and dash. I did find the very helpful thread in this forum on dash removal for 68-70.

The choke pull knob doesn't seem to have a set screw like most of the other knobs, but it needs to come off if I'm going to separate the choke control from the lower dash console. I definitely don't want to force it and risk breaking it, so I thought I better stop and get advice from the experts.

Any advice would be appreciated!

The set screw is located on the underside of the knob.

Just did this three days ago on a 68. Turn knob to the right to turn the set screw to 9:00 position so you can remove it.

There are some choke cables that in order to remove the knob you pull the knob out hold the shaft behind the knob, push the knob towards the dash and rotate the knob counter clockwise and it comes off.
