2L fuel pump spacer info

Post by Habitat.pat »

I have a 1600 but a friend is having fuel problems with his 2L. Been off the road for several years. Fuel lines are clear, can blow through the filler & fuel comes out @ the pump inlet line. New ZTherapy carbs. No/hardly any fuel to carbs. Replaced the fuel pump w/one from Dean. No change.

I was just working on my engine & saw the pump spacer on my engine is about 1/4” thick & I think his is much thicker. The car is 60 mobiles away so I can’t see for sure. Anyway, how thick should the spacer be?

Peace,
Pat

Same spacer for 1600/2000. I just measured a new Nissan OEM, .269 inches wide with pre-installed gaskets. (6.84mm)

I had heard (and just verified on Rallye’s site) that there were some older pumps with a thinner flange and a thicker spacer. Maybe he has one of those thicker spacers with a newer pump with thicker flange?

I’ve never seen one but some on this site are more knowledgeable than me can comment.

The early flange was thinner, but the spacers were the same thickness on all of the cars I have worked on. Do you have a link to the Rallye information?

Rallye only has one listing for the FP Spacer. Usage is "all" models.

Rallye speaks to the thinner flange issue on earlier pumps, but nothing about using a different Spacer.

That is my knowledge and experience as well. That is why I asked about the reference to the thicker spacer.

Well,as usual, I was wrong. Rallye does refer to a thinner flange but not a thicker spacer.
