Fuel line diagram/photos?
I am sorry if the information is on here, but I can't find it for the life of me.
I'm working on an early 67 1600 with the R16. The last person to wrench on it had fitted an electric pump and told me the cam was flat so the mechanical wouldn't work. Turns out he had just put the pump on upside down. Made a nice oil leak too.
Now i've cleaned up and replaced all the bits in the fuel filter but with what he's done to the fuel lines i'm not sure how it should all go back. I'm looking for pictures or a diagram to show how the lines route from the line on the frame from the tank, to the filter, to the pump and then on to the carbs.
I would like to know how the pump and filter are "clocked" as well. I know the routing is tank-->filter--> pump-->carbs.
I'm not doing a 100 point restoration this car, but i'd like for it to be somewhat close to original if possible. I know i'll have to use some rubber lines to splice, but I'll make new metal lines where I can to keep it original looking.
Any help is much appreciated!

Re: Fuel line diagram/photos?
Disney,
I have been trying to upload a pic but the site won't allow me to this evening. Anyway, the original steel tube comes up from the pump, over the front and in front of the valve cover, then turns to the rear and in 2-3 inches there is a tee with adapters to go to rubber hose, one to each carb. There is also a clamp that goes under one of the head bolts. I see them come up on ebay now and then. I have never seen a new one offered.

Re: Fuel line diagram/photos?
Does the line pass in front of the water neck or between the water neck and valve cover? I'm assuming it goes around the outside of the alternator? Looks like it would be pretty tight to go between the alt and the timing cover/water pump. Thanks for the help!

Perhaps these will help. There is also a retainer strap on the front of the timing chain cover.

Re: Fuel line diagram/photos?
As above P/N 22 is very misleading in the parts diagram.
It is a very complex shape of tubing as seen in the last picture.
After I reproduced the original using new tube and fittings I got my local brake shop to flare the fuel pump end.

Nissanman, just trying to help.

It goes up behind the alt. Then there is supposed to be a clip that is held by one of the upper right timing cover screws that holds it tight. Mine doesn't have near the bends that Curtis's has.

All 3 of my tubes are bent like this. If you look closely you can see the little strap behind the fan belt holding the tube on with two bolts to the timing chain cover.

Re: Fuel line diagram/photos?
This has been a tremendous help! Thank you so much!
I found the reason I didn't think it would go under the alt. It was because the Alt didn't have the lower bolt in place. These pictures help so so much. Can't wait to get it all sorted out!
