I'm glad it's working now, but swapping the cable might have only kicked the can down the road for a little while if it's really a starter problem. A nice new cable provides just enough power to help a defective starter get over the hump. When my 240Z did this, I'd clean the terminals and it would work fine for a little while...until it didn't... Not trying to be a "Debbie Downer" - only that I'd carry around a wrench and wire brush for a little bit until you are 100% confident the cable did the trick.

I figured that may be the case. The cable looked fine. The starter is only about a year old. Keep your fingers crossed for me. You'll hear me whining on this forum again if it's more serious. I bought this car to tinker and learn some automotive skills, but its been so ridiculously reliable Ive learned almost nothing in my couple years of owning it!
