steering wheel

Post by Guy »

I'd like to change the steering wheel on a 1969. Is there an appropriate conversion adapter?

There are adapters available but all are more/less specific to the brand of steering wheel you want to mount

Not committed to a specific wheel, just the appropriate adapter. I'll pick a wheel that is compatible.

If you get a Momo adapter and then get a Grant wheel, you need a Momo to Grant adapter. Which is why it is an idea to pick the wheel first and then get the correct adapter-at least in my opinion.

Yeah! Get the Kameari wheel and no adapter is needed!

So Linda...both Momo and Grant have the correct adapter?

I have the wheel off my 68. It has a Momo wheel. The number on the sdapter is 4-3500.

I have a Momo wheel with a Grant adapter and a Momo adapter on top of that. Or you can use a Momo adapter only for a Momo wheel. Adapters have to fit the spines on the column correctly. There are threads for the correct part numbers.

If that Kameari wheel fits, as it obviously does, then any adapter made for a 510/610/240Z/280Z should fit. I know at least on the later Roadsters, they use the same spline as any Datsun (except the 1200/B210).

That should also mean you can use a 240Z wheel, which is quite pretty. Or almost any stock Datsun wheel.
