Brian has parts

Post by C.Costine »

My friend Brian who drives a 260 Z has these parts that he doesn't remember the origin of and what they go to. Can you help? The carbs seem to be a larger bore than the ones on my 1600. One has a brass cap which of course indicates older.

Manifold is U20 missing water tube and linkage. Carb with brass cap is British if I am not mistaken. The other may be the rear carb from a 68-70 1600 based on the return valve, but something doesn't look right.

The upper SU looks british, the lower looks like regular 68-70 1600, but hard to tell from the photo.

The two carbs are actually the same. Just opposite orientation in order to show both sides

Doesn’t look that way. Look at the top of the float bowl on the upper carb. That’s not roadster.

The lower carb appears to be very late 1600 (70ish)

I am pretty sure that the float bowls are the same.
