Stock brakes needing new pads? Nice Amazon price on EBC Yellow Stuff.

Post by DAC21 »

Part number DP4120R. Multiple Roadster owners have installed them with no issues. Big upgrade from OEM. Typically these run for $85-100 for the 4 piece set. I snagged some last week for $45 via Amazon PRIME with free ship. I have monitored the price since and it jumps all over the place with supposedly only 1 more set available. As of this writing Amazon has it for $51 a nice savings vs all other sources. Generic photo used on Amazon, so no worries.

Well someone must have bought a set as the price is now $85. The same thing happened after I bought my set for 45 last week I immediately went back online and the price was showing $85. Keep checking I suspect they'll be available for much cheaper again. I'm not sure what's going on with Amazon's price algorithms.

Seeing your post, I bought a set and it $51 and said it was the last set. Then the price jumped to $85 and it says there are 8 sets left.
Maybe new packaging ;)

“Revenue Management”, as airlines (among others) practice.

I'm assuming "revenue management" is what my wife has seen when she goes to book trips. The first time you log onto a site it will show you a price. If you do not book and then go back onto the site it will show a higher price. If you delete cookies, you will probably see the original price.

That’s one example, ‘book now, or pay more later’, and yes, clearing cache and cookies may help, although the displayed price increase may be due to the original quote having been changed by the pricing algorithm on account of other booking or inventory change activity.

In general, the most competent airline RM systems offer an ‘ask’ price based on ‘expected marginal seat revenue’ (EMSR), which is based on both historical prices achieved and current capacity and demand dynamics, on the local segment being booked as well its participation in any behind or beyond connecting market from origin to destination.

The required computing power is immense.

simpler answer: one seller had it for a discount, sold all their stock, now it's showing the regular price sellers.

Yep, that seller in my case which were bought on 11/12 for $45 was directly from Amazon, I suspect they were just clearing out the last few in stock. I imaging that was the seller as well for Solex68 @ $51

I just saw a set for $31... just filter by lowest price first - then scroll till you find the right model.

Make sure it is a DP4120R and not a DP41201R

I looked back at it and the one I saw is actually the wrong model. It was DP4102R . Thanks for the heads up
