Be glad that you don’t need them for an early Porsche 911!

Uh, ya... way way way too much carburetion for a street 240/280, that would be full race car only IMHO! A 2400cc 6 cylinder is only 400cc per bore, a U20 is a 2000cc 4 cylinder/500cc per bore, and someone's thinking their gonna run such a huge carb on a smaller demand? Maybe at 8500rpm! There's a reason why they run 30-34mm chokes on the triple Z carb set up.
Beautiful looking carbs though...

Definately nice 50mm's, some racing roadsters ran twin 50's.
I'm running triple Dellorto 48mm's on my "street" Z, just runs brilliantly on them, but then I am at 3200cc.

1965 Nissan Silvia (CSP311) for total restoration

Re: So, you think Datsun Solex’s are expensive
Agreed, 3200cc is workable. I ran a set of 48mm SK Racing carbs with 39mm chokes on my U20 and it did OK, but I don't believe I'm running out of air with the 45 Dellortos and 37mm chokes. I may try the 40mm chokes again now that I have big enough pump jets. A friend who knows reported that his customers were making better, more usable power with 40mm vs 45mm carbs with the same size chokes on their modified Alfas. Air velocity plays a big role.

Just have to be diligent to find a good deal. Found this for a great deal and will be replacing my Type2s with these once they are rebuilt... anyone need a manifold for a L-series motor?
