Need some wheel help 68 Roadster 2000

Post by halvernaz »

Will these fit my stock 68 2000 with stock suspension.

I want to be sure they won't rub.

Model: ROTA RB
Size: 15X6
Bolt pattern: 4X114.3
Offset: 25
Hub bore:73

Thanks
Henry

I had 15" x 6" Rotas and I think I remember they need either +12 or -12 (I can't remember) offset on the front fenders not to rub. Rear was 25 I think.
Wish I could remember but I'm old.

ideally you want close to +15 offset. The +25 offset above might give you clearance issues with the front calipers

Could I use a 10mm spacer in the front?

absolutely.
My advice: since these are readily available in roadster-specific sizes (even with center caps that fit!) you should order the standard +12 or +18 offset, no spacers needed.

ps there's an entire section devoted to fitment of the Rota RB wheels here:

I have those exact wheels on my '66, except with a +20 offset. No rubbing at all. I also have the Datsun Parts lowering springs in front, stock rear.

Alvin has the right info. 15x6 +25 offset too high - risks inside interference. I run 15x7 +20 rears and still have more than enough outside room to go with even lower offset, somewhere in the +10 to +12mm area for perfect fit (lowered, guards untouched). I do run 15x6 +20s in front and that works fine while maintaining good steering response and return.

Also go with devo's and Alvin's recommendation on 18racing.com as source. They tweaked their EBay listing for me to get me exactly the setup I wanted: staggered 15x6, 15x7, both +20, big/tall caps

Henry,
if you look at the Wheel and tires thread you'll see a a number of folks have reported using 7" wheels with an offset of +15 and/or +18 with no issues and no spacer requirements.
A 7" wide wheels with an offset of +15 is 3mm closer to the struts then a 6" wheel with a +25
on my car we installed 16x7 +10 wheels which have the same placement by 2mm with no issues
I highly doubt you would have any issues with these wheels

That being said I would order the +20 since they are available with big caps and if you don t mind different sizes i would do +20 front and +4 rear
