Jay Leno and my 66

Post by spags1986 »

Last year at SEMA I had the opportunity to talk with Jay Leno for a bit and of course the topic was on cars. Come to find out one of Jays cars he had really early on was a 1967 Datsun Roadster 1600. This obviously led into showing off pictures and planning a time to show it off in person. Today, Jay got to check out my 66 at his studio in Burbank. Anyways, here is a photo from this morning.

Did you get him to sign anywhere on the car? That would be awesome

Very nice story and photo. I like Jay both as a car guy and a comedian.

Your roadster looks amazing! I love the combination of the tan top with the cream paint. I believe that's the original color of my 2000. When I get mine repainted I may have to go back to the original cream and get a tan top. Just wonder what it will look like on a high windshield....

Nice! Jay is a class guy. I think probably one of the best ambassadors of the automotive enthusiast side of the industry.

Met him a few years ago at JCCS #5 actually. I was standing talking to a gentleman with a 36 Datsun Phaeton when another guy walks up and starts talking it too me a second to realize it was Leno who walked up next to me. We all chatted for a few until someone realized who was standing there and suddenly a small mob scene and Jay was off like a rocket towards safety of the Mazda booth (IIRC his Cosmos was in their booth).
