Any recent dealing with Karp's ?

Post by dynaguy »

Gonna be going through my '66 survivor this winter. After sitting for 45 years, it will probably need attention to the hydraulic systems. On the Datsun Roadster Facebook group, it was mentioned that Karps was having difficulty with rebuild kits sourced from their vendors. Anyone here aware of that problem? TIA Pat

Pat,

I would just have them do the re-sleeve and you can use the vendor available kits to complete. It quite expensive to have Karp do the complete rebuilds. I had the kits but he misunderstood and did the rebuild. The front caliper rebuild kits were still available from Nissan part #41120-73425. The other rebuild kits for the master, clutch and rear brakes will have to be vendor supplied. Karp's does an excellent job on re-sleeving. I put some rears on my Z car 5 plus years ago and they have never leaked since. I had to replace them just about yearly before installing the stainless re-sleeved.

Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.
