Just when you do not expect to see any more unknown 67 2000 roadsters!!
Portland area guy drove # 96 to the Blue Lake Datsun show.
He has owned it for 35 years and this was the roadsters first meet/show appearance.
He is restoring it and wants it to be as correct as possible.
Not in the registry. Matching #s and engine # sequencing seems right.
Neat Plate "96TH-1".
He was proud of his nice horn button and disappointed when we pointed out is a 63-67 horn!  :)
I sent him a link to the 67 2000 Model Guide in the WIKI, to aid him with the restoration.

Ted.

I was thinking the same thing... are those gas cap lids even available?

I love how the owners excitement was immediately diminished with a demerit from Ted, welcome to the club #96! haha

Dean sells a replacement gas cap lid.
Pebbles installed one and it looks good.

As the guy trying to make original negative battery cables he needs to put that nice original cable of his on the correct side of the battery. But of course that means a new battery with terminals in the right place.

Fine example coming out of nowhere.
66 stroker, almost done.
67 basket case, paint coming soon.

That car looks very nice as is, and if the paint and body work is as good as it looks then he's only a couple of thousand dollars away from being near perfect. A battery topper and the correct battery hold down frame along with the correct hose clamps would go a long way towards finishing up the engine bay. I for one would certainly be proud to own it.

Superb! Glad to see another one come out of the woodwork. I'm sure the owner will be happy to have us pick all of his nits for him - as they are relatively low cost corrections to get a 100pt car.

Cheers
