That's very similar to what I made. As noted, one of the difficulties is having enough room for stacks while still being able to fit the cover onto the carbs while working it around the inner fenders etc. When you're in there you will understand the fitmet limitations. Shorties would be the only way to go (they'll work fine as stacks, but something is definitely need). Also, you must have a hole in the backing plate for the starter system even if you don't use it... it feeds air to the carbs, and covering that will not allow the car to run. Actually I did but I have not been able to test it yet. I cut slots to allow air to also flow in the engine bay. I plan to also put some mesh/chicken wire in it to avoid large items getting in.... I know many on here will get mad I cut the hood scoop - and honestly it may not even improve cooling (or perhaps make it worse idk) but I want to test it. The stock scoop was a cooling scoop. If you look at the metal inside it, it deflected air downwards towards the radiator. Cutting the deflector is letting air bypass the radiator.

Right. I understand this. I was just trying something out... Also I didn't cut the entire piece off. Only made a few slots. But like I said... could be doing more damage. I will run tests
