Solex linkage modification...why?

Post by raylim »

Could you tell me why would someone cut and extend the throttle linkage for the 44 Solex set-up?

They wanted a different throw ratio or broke the throttle drum somehow?

This mod made it either at idle or at WOT....
Now we’re looking for that linkage or else a crummy looking weld job is in the works.

My guess is that the pedal twisted on the cross shaft, and they didn't realize it, so this was the solution to get a full throttle opening.

This is me idea of the cause also. The pedal has a slot cut into the arm that wears and the shaft also wears so you don't get full throttle.
If you pull up on your gas pedal and to moves in relation to the shaft.....BINGO
