1970 Roadster with a 9/69 build

Recently purchased this beautiful car, via Mike Young, as a temporary driver while I get Eliza properly back on road. Hit and run, cockpit fire etc. needs some long time work.
Already put 2K+ miles on it.
Question
The car is in ALL aspects, as far as I can see, 1970 (door buzzer, clutch transmission connection (does ANYONE actually know what this is supposed to do), rectangular lights, rear LARGE reflectors, and NO small one etc.
Yet it was built on 9/69 according to plate affixed to driver side.
Dann's website says that '69 stopped at 27000.
Anyone else have a '70 1600 with build before '70

You must have applied some elbow grease to it since I saw it last the day after you drove it down. Damn it looks great! I’ll see you next week.

Re: 1970 Roadster with a 9/69 build
Aren't many of the cars built the year before? For example, my '90 300Zx was built in August of '89.
Our '08 GTI was built in 11 of 07.

Re: 1970 Roadster with a 9/69 build
Very true as I once had series 1 240z titled as 71 but the build date was 11/70. Quite common. Boy wish I still had that one with E31 head. Unfortunately it was hit/run.

Datsuns , most, were being built from july to April , maybe May ...311s maybe different as little changed
I remember guys in the shop ,stop to come see a May build date , we even used to play liers poker of sorts about it
It looks sharp especially like the no side moulding look

Nice car Pete!
My '69 (26746) is the highest 69 serial number on record and it was built in June '69. They probably switched to 1970 model year in and around that time.
Cheers,
