Added another Roadster to the family! 1969 2000

Post by spags1986 »

From the research I did looks like it was restored by Cliff Scott (based on the registry) then made its way to Arizona where the owner passed away and was sold to me by the daughter. It's mechanically in good shape but does need a little to be brought back to its formal life when Cliff owned it. Super excited to have this roadster join my family! I'll get better pictures once it gets here and has a good wash.
The daughter and son in law knew very little about the actual car and am hoping the top is just installed incorrectly.

It's not bad at all, I have a great paintless dent repair guy who said he can take care of it and worse comes to worse I have a spare hood and trunk lid.

I remember seeing this for sale thinking it's posted way too low, too good to be true.
Well bought and pretty!

I thought the same thing, messaged them thinking for sure it has to be gone. Ended up talking to the owner for a while and got it for an unbelievable price. Hopefully it will be at solvang as well as my 66 this year.

I (and others) always tell prospective buyer's to buy the "best car you afford" and this a perfect example. Happy for you!

Yeah, speaking with them I had the feeling they needed to sell and could get it for a very good price, and to be honest had it not been for it not starting the day it was supposed to be inspected and the stupidly high shipping to Canada from nowhere Arizona I may has well have bought it by now.

In the end I followed Alvin’s advice and decided spend a bit more on a car that has or will have all the upgrades I would have done to this one anyway

Anyway great purchase I’m sure you’ll enjoy it

Beautiful car... congrats on it being apparently well bought. :)

Was there any documentation on the original restoration, etc included? Always curious to see how things were done, sourced, etc

Nice car, ugly top...lol
Looks like it is missing the rear hoop or it is folded forward

Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

Cleaned her all up and took a few pictures next to the 66. The electrical "problem" ended up being a bad alternator which has already been fixed, car runs like a dream.
