Consult Connections

Post by Bigtaku »

Who is using Consult to hook up to SR20DE engines? Prices are all over the place. With no OBD2 port as an option, which consult interface is the best option? Also what software is popular here with our group? I have the Consult port with my wiring specialties harness.
Thanks

Nissan does not use the OBD2 port on the SR20DE(T) engines.

We love using the CONSULT port and use this software to monitor what is going on with the engine-- it is a great tool:

We use this software to check temperature, timing, and charging (along with a TON of other stuff).

Thanks Michael, I'm ordering this package. https://www.obdinnovations.com/consult- ... 1989-2000/ Does this look like the right choice?

Be sure and post how this goes for you. I'm interested as well, but you're well ahead of me.

Michael,

Yes, there are Bluetooth CONSULT connectors-- I have this one:

It does require connections via an Andriod phone, so if you are an Iphone user, you will be out of luck.

I have this app for mine-- which works OK-- not the best, its pretty buggy.

Still, it is a great backup for when I'm on the road and want to confirm what the car is doing.

Hope that helps,
