Tough to tell on my phone, but the pedal pads appear to be from a Mercedes.

Yes they are mercedes you can see the star in the middle.
All single carb I have seen have the generator on the left side.
This car has a different cooling fan compare the others I have seen, spacer looks to be the same as Gnob’s 63.
Could als be a mercedes cooling fan since the pads are to.
There is also a valve or water switch next to the water pump that is new to me.

I haven't studied the photos, so forgive me. The fan looks like a fan from an A15 or some other later Datsun engine. The vinyl bag is a later bag, not a 63 tool bag. The valve that Richard mentioned looks familiar to me - again, I will need to digout the early shop manual. This is a very cool find. It certainly deserves to be brought back from the brink.

I have double checked the parts manual, and yes, the master cylinders for both the clutch and brakes should be metal with a screw cap. The brake master on the car is a service replacement. the Brooklands road test book clearly shows that plus the valve on the heater hose. The fan should be the metal two piece unit as also used on the early 1600s without the hole in the center. I have parts manuals for the SPL212/213, and the SPL310 single and dual carbs versions with several supplements. I even have duplicates of several. I have an original shop manual for the single carb 1500, and four shop manuals for the dual carb 1500s (2 are vinyl cover manuals for the dealership, and 2 are paperback owners repair manuals - identical except for the covers). If you want me to look up something specific, let me know. BTW, the emblem on the back of the car is correct for the single carb cars.

These single carb images might be of some use to you (just some various images that I saved over the years):

Image

Image

Obviously a RHD unit, but they show the cast master cylinders that Sid was describing.

Very nice! I am now tempted to rebuild that cast iron M/C
To keep it period correct. Thanks for the reference pictures!

More shots from inside the engine bay. Now I need to find a motorcycle shop to redo my accelerator and choke cable. These tires are so small!

Alas, I got pedal after bench bleeding M/C and then it went straight to the floor. The culprit is in the pictures...a blown wheel cylinder (the rear one of the front passenger (US MODEL) wheel).

The Fairlady has these tabs on the windshield unlike my 67.
As for the gas tank...just a little surface rust.
And one for you gear heads out there.
What is the additional valve to the oil pan?

That’s a stock windshield frame for a 1500. The top bow has knobs that screw on those tabs
I remember when no one wanted the 1500s......

The lower plug in the pic looks like factory, while the upper one looks like a nut and bolt plug for an additional hole that may be unintentional.

Added boss for oil temp gauge?
The "Alvin style hartop" 66 had an oil temp gauge/sender, threaded into the drain plug boss. PITA to drain the oil.
