Wow, one of the least rotted Roadsters I've seen. The pic of your daughter reminded me of when I first drove my roadster around the block, sitting on a wood box with no fenders on the car, but grinning like an idiot!

Motor and trans all done! Decided to go a very non traditional route with carburation. We wanted stone cold reliable and settled on a single 2 barrel carb and custom intake. Starts and runs perfectly on the engine stand, should outperform the stock su's with no drama ever.
Sorry about the sideways picture! Took a little video of it running, but can't get it to load. Will try later.

That's progress. Chassis all done. Body is still in paint prison, but we are plugging forward this week with the addition of the drivetrain and tires...

Your chassis motor looks good. Sure you will be glad to mate the body back on sooner than later.

Body made it back from bodyshop prison today. I really love the color my daughter picked out. We are optimistically hoping to have this thing together mid summer. I 'think' we will make some big progress as most parts needed are sitting on the shelf ready to bolt on. But this is not the first car I have put together and know how reality and expectations often clash.

Looks good, nice bright color so visibility is good for other drivers . I am always torn about a young driver driving a Roadster since it has no safety features. The need to be super vigilant is closer to a motorcycle, and young drivers don't have the experience to know why. A defensive driving course and bigger tires for grip would be on my list. Never too early to think safety☺

Suggestion, either put doors in or brace to avoid body 'arching'

Seatbelts will be 4point and a roll bar to help with the safety issues. Most of us survived less than that and she is a way safer driver than I ever was at that age. But yeah, everything is a risk.
Don't understand the door brace thing. Body is back on the frame, bolted down. It is not going anywhere. Anyways, putting the doors back on will be high on the list.

Anyone ever use an electronic parking brake? Been thinking it would make a great security device, and create a bit more room for a custom center console. It would operate on a button hidden somewhere like under the dash or in the center console. If you did not know where the button was or what it did, the only way to steal the car would be to trailer it.

Oh wow looks VERY clean. All of it. Very cool color too and I like the combo with the gloss black. Happy reassembling!

I know there is a thread here somewhere with pictures of parts that need to be identified, but I cant seem to locate it. In the meantime, I have these two brackets that were in a bag with some other stuff marked 'chassis', but I sure can't seem to figure out where they go..

Those are brackets for backup lights.

Got it, thanks! Backup lights, explains why I couldn't figure out where they belonged. Still a ways away from thinking about backup lights....
