The collector where the individual primary header pipes join. Cam be numerous combinations such as 4-into1 as per the pics below. Or 4into 2 which can then go into 1 or tri-y design. Search that term on google.

They play an important role in facilitating the scavenging effect of headers among other things.

These ones were made by Alastair Sutton-Davies in Brisbane, Australia (where i live too). They will be going on my car soon.

awah I get this . I went 4-2-1 on my header and the pipes must match the correct path of the firing order . like ours is 1-5/2&3 for the air push pull thing helps out the other one corresponding one .or something like that . now is it like a smog thing in exhaust systems inside this area or is it this area period . ?

Header design is a black art, there is alot of science involved, but still an art. Generally people want a merge collector for smooth flow, alot comes down to what fits under the car and won't get destroyed first speed bump

Dave Brisco

Take my advice, I'm not using it"

and theirs just barely room for a 4/2/1 . I think I cracked mine bending it into place . it's a bit rumbly .but I kinda like it But , it's hurting performance and eventually valves so I'm going to dig in there again ,sooner than later.. better than gear oil that's for sure I read up on it for two or three weeks with mine I put together and I still barely have a concept. like each thing that's apart of this motor , each thing is it's own specialty . like goes intricate . so I respect the depth of all ,and know I don't know
