Not only was the road excursion a really good article, but there was a related link, copied below, that tells more about the "bare metal zombie" Datsun.

Turns out one of the participants in the excursion has it in his DNA, essentially, to be in a 311 today. Here's his Dad at the wheel...

Alex's Dad, Hoover is a fixture in the Roadster world in Calgary. He has owned dozens and has one of the more tastefully personalized 67 1600's you will ever see - right down to the custom stenciled gauges with "Hoover" written on each one in super subtle 1/8" high letters. (The car in the pic posted by Paul). The car also runs Triumph TR6 steel wheels painted body colour that look really sharp in a retro hotrod kinda way...
