Map light bulb number?

Post by printner »

Does anyone have a number for a replacement map light bulp (67.5)? Can't find a number on the bulb or on the tech wiki.

Thanks!

In my 68 center console/map light there is a Toshiba bulb with A12V8W, hope that helps.

That's odd, it doesn't look anything like the one I have.

Low windshield cars have a different dash and map light.

I replaced my incandescent bulb with an LED that I found on eBay.

The original bulb was ~29mm long. The LED is ~27mm. Search for "festoon" or "wedge" type bulbs. The contacts in the housing can be bent a bit to allow a slightly longer or shorter bulb to be secured

There is no part number on the incandescent bulb, only "LIFE 12V 5W"

Here is an active eBay listing for an LED replacement for under $2 for a pair from Hong Kong:

Thanks Mike,
I used your recommendations previously on the tail lights, Turn signals, switchbacks, and dash LED's. And finally, this one too. All worked out great!

I had checked the techwiki and the map light bulb wasn't listed. Before I saw Mike's response, I found these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M32X3M1

Minor tweaking to the contact tabs and fits like a charm. SUPER bright! I liked the 360 degree illumination, not that it's necessary for a map light but the light does have a pretty good sized reflector.

"3022 festoon" or "28mm festoon" produced a lot of results. 30mm bulbs are too long for the mounting tabs.

Thanks for all the help!
