Thanks Greg, its been a "Fugly" week at work and with a volunteer board I'm on ... what is it with people .... why does drama need creep into the workplace? If people want drama, watch some TV.
No....Wait.
Real life is where the ideas for fictional drama come from. Dang. We must have some good writers working for us. :|
On to the really important stuff ... the car :)
Most of my driving since posting has been shorter runs, so I'll do the easy fix first by tightening the gas line clamps, then grab new spark plugs and try out your suggestion.
Lash is a possibility as well. The head was off last summer, and my mechanic was looking for correct measurements. I'll see if he can remember what he set them at and if I have notes. I assume 6 intake & 8 exhaust are for cold engine.
This week I was still getting one other symptom after going rich 1/4 turn...slight run-on after shut down.
Ross...yup, I'm running Chevron 94. The little worm may have gotten in the lines when the car was at the PO, at the Wet Coast.
Yesterday a semi-retired friend and I (but mostly him) spent a little less then 3 hours re-building the sun visors and shift boot cover. The sun visors will still need a missing piece or two to attach them to the windshield, but I can do that part.

I chose to stick with black vinyl with a slight grain to match the seats and parcel shelf. I'll need to re-cover those as well, but one thing at a time.
Re-gluing down the vinyl in the foot wells will need to wait until we order the correct spray-on adhesive which won't de-glue in the heat.

Here are some updated pictures of the altered tonneau cover. Not concourse-ready, but it will keep the sun, dust, pollen, & bird droppings off the interior. I'll see what I can do to stretch it to fit the driver side twisties once the heat really hits

Bumping this because I should have a tonneau cover soon too. Did you just cut around the roll bar holes and add that material? No zippers or anything?

Ralph, did you take your pictures with an iPhone by chance. Here is an explanation on why this happens with a possible fix.

When you click on the picture and open it-the picture is in the correct orientation.

Im still curious about a few things, like where to find the additional latch pieces for the door and the dash, then I need to get some zippers sewn in

Pretty sure that's what my friend did ...he figured out the right shape, cut out some of the material to fit the roll-bar and away he went. No zippers or velcro flaps...not down-pour-proof, but it does the job. The fuzzy bits can get caught in the wind at the leading edge if I leave it attached. Hope this helps.

Took my first longer drive during work today ... only 115 KM return...but far enough to not want to have to grab a cab to see my client. Roadster ran great...smooth shifting; lovely noise...pretty good pep. I'll fill her up in the morning and see how the fuel consumption was. I got a note put on my desk today...a random guy saw my Roadser in the parking lot & wanted to let me know he has 5-hole, 14" vintage American Racing Rims on a donor car. He has a 280 z with EFI...and figures he won't be needing the wheels. It is a little early for me to be collecting more wheels ... I already have 13 including the spare. If he is OK with it, and he wnats them posted, I'll be gettng photos & pricing soon.

Of tonneau covers and toggle switches...

I've done it twice now. Carefully putting my tonneau on only to have it catch on my head-light toggle switch...didn't notice, headed to work, or lunch ... and voila. Dead or almost dead battery. I just need to remember to do my "shut-down" checklist...and include check the lights as I walk away.

And I have my own jumper cables :)

Ralph,

Get a portable jump starter. Starts a roadster without issue. I've used mine a couple of times to jump start roadsters with inattentive operators!

Shoot you can Almost jump start it by yourself if going downhill a bit ..haha or keep a extra charged battery in trunk .. may save your life one day ..lol

I’ve done that once so far... but this body is ok pushing down hill but on the flat I just don’t have it any more 😔

I'm done most of the research so feel prepared for the soft top project.

This afternoon I'll pop the hard top off with my son and make sure the soft top bow lines up with the windshield frame. Pretty stoked with how good the bow looks behind the centre clip. Since its in such good shape, can I assume that as long as I treat it well, there is no need to reinforce it?
