Post by mellis18 »

I'm looking for the interior windshield pad. Goes up the sides of the windshield and across the top. Top latches screw through it. Anyone know where I can find??

Vendors have - or you can make your own.

Here's a link.

I only need the 2 vertical pieces. Everyone keeps telling me to make my own but I really don't want to...my to-do list is long enough.

Have you seen this thread?

I'll bet it'd work on the windshield trim too.

I'm thinking of taking the dash cap off and doing my dash, console and window trim all in one shot so everything matches.

Every so often in the life of an old car, major stuff just HAS to be addressed, whether it needs it or not.
Rewiring, disassembling of the front suspension, wiring etc.
The secret is in planning - what can I do while I am there that I will NEVER have to do again.
One's intentions with the vehicle obviously plays a part.
Just maintaining as a short term daily driver, or havinf a vehicle that is sound. and that one would feel confident in taking across country.
But, I believe, when one takes drastic measures, pulling engines, pulling the dash etc. then DO all that is needed (especially based upon this Forum's recoommendations that you will NEVER have to address this again.
IMHO - FWIW

Side pieces can be bought as a pair for half the price of the main kit for anyone interested. They are special order and take 1 week to get. The link showing the parts has already been posted in this thread.
