Recent Find - 1967 SRL311-00194
Today a recent craigslist find arrived in Texas (From Minnesota), a 1967.5 2000 #194.
The PO said the car had not been well stored and needed a full restoration. Being the car was from Minnesota, I expected a horrible, rusty, crusty mess. I was stunned to find the vehicle (though dirty) was in great shape! The body has almost no rust, and the paint will just need a good wash, clay bar, and wax. The interior is in nice shape and still has the original dash pad without cracks or damage.
The car had the engine and trans removed, but nicely strapped to a homemade pallet. The engine has the 7 quart oil pan, and solexes with factory air cleaner were sitting in the interior. Missing a few bits, but will start digging through the trunk.
I haven't had a chance to start cleaning the vehicle up, but here are a few shots on arrival:
On arrival:
Can't believe this is from Minnesota!
Very Original Interior:

You are one lucky (and skilled) guy Dan - that car looks great! I can't wait to get the engine and transmission sorted and back into the car.

Did the seller have much of a story?
Sounds like they may have bought it from another person who began a project, gave up for whatever reason, and put it away. That storage may have saved it from at least few years of road rust.
That passenger side looks amazingly straight, no blunt trauma to the (rare) trim nor even parking lot rash.
Glad you took a bunch of "before" photos too. You'll treasure that as you get along putting it back on the road.

Same from me - what a great find! I noticed the original fan shroud, the rare open element solex air filter. Very cool stuff!
How many miles are on the odometer? Without prying into actual price paid, did the owner know how relatively rare the half year 2000's are?
Although, it does seem like more and more are turning up in various places....

Yes was a great find. Wish I was first in line not 3rd.What a smoking good deal. With the amount of interest the owner wished he had auctioned the car.

Re: Recent Find - 1967 SRL311-00194
Seems like a number of 67.5 2000s have come to light recently. I don't seem them updated to the Datsun.org site... not sure the owner is still active with it or not, but it was a nice site before. I think kids etc have come along, with the typical "Roadster lifestyle" delay that usually occurs...

The PO is a very nice guy. He was familiar with the car (owned for several years) and roadsters, but was unable the complete the project.
Let's celebrate when this roadster runs under its own U20 power!
Thanks, All.
