I have several, some I am racing more regularly, some are in the works and some are more challenging projects than others. Some people collect stamps or antiques, I collect old race cars...I think it's a good idea to try to preserve old race cars with interesting history. I have found homes for some of them and others I have kept. Time will tell if it's a good idea or not. I'm having fun so that's what matters for now :D

True, but I look at it as they saved the car. Being on the trailer saved the frame. Otherwise it may have been crushed long ago. At least now I can restore it and it will race again some day.

1. worn upper ball joints on cobblestone roads.
2. improper lash adjustment.
3 Tightening up the steering box isnt always a good idea...

Yeah, if the steering box is really loose, the ball rides really high on the worm where the material is thin. The side loading pressure on the worm causes the top of the thread to chip and shatter.

That was a pretty impressive trailer for its day; the thing was massive! Penny still has the title for it, it was one of Fitzy’s old trailers...

I agree, the trailer certainly protected the important parts of the car. Most everything else sitting on the ground is probably destined for scrap.

I was scanning TV shows this morning while eating breakfast when my wife called out that a 2013 episode of "Hording: Buried alive" was on and featuring a gal in Tacoma. As they scanned across the yard, peeking out from what was left of a tarp was an early 1600, probably a '66 or '67-67.5. Total rust bucket, but had a good rear bumper...
Poor thing. It was probably more rat free than the house. I have worked with people who hord, yet another of those strange things that people do for reasons only they can understand (or not, really). I felt sorry for her, but also wonder what happened to the Car!

Driver side frame (under the seat area)...or at least what's left of it. This on a vehicle that has been stored, untouched and indoors since the early 80s.
