In the Tech Wiki you will also find the Service Manual and the Online Parts manual to view or download.
I would have the links handy for the mechanic to make it easier for them to get up to speed.

Transporters issues sounds familiar😩. Get a cheap harbor freight electric wench and nad a temporary mount on the trailer. And drag that broken pup onboard. Just don’t stand behind the wench should a cable snap. They sell a cheap remotely operating wench for under 100 bucks

Linda the cross reference is very helpful and FYI to some who haven’t transported across country, some of the transport co’s must move the cars frequently to load and unload. So a car that doesn’t run costs more and provides fewer choices. If anyone can point me to a reputable service shop near Sandy Utah.. I’m in for have some work done before the trip!

RICH, I am glad that you understand the difference between local and cross country trucking!!

Replaced the cigarette lighter/ phone charger outlet. It was a little stuck.

Finished the fuel pump rebuild (again - had a rattle after the first one - it was the metal keeper that the T (plunger) passes through before passing through the gap in the lever. Anyway, will hopefully have time to install that tomorrow and maybe get to the light carb rebuild. Also planning on doing some cleanup of the engine and bay tomorrow. It is filthy. Going to borrow a scope to inspect my fuel tank as well. Decided to trade a Z spoiler I had picked up on recent trip to Texas, for a set of Swastikas. Was going to see about modifying the spoiler to use on the front of my Roadster, but the more I thought about cutting up a perfectly good Z spoiler, that someone else really wants to use on their Z car, I thought why not get another wheel option (and 15" at that)?

Finished the fuel pump rebuild
Did you rebuild an early or a late pump?

As you may know, don't use the lug nuts for the Z wheels on the Roadster... different thread pitch but they will go on... then pop off. Watched my friend "Damn-it" Bill's wife's car lose a wheel on the freeway. Beyond fortunate that nobody was hurt or killed. The sheet metal could be fixed...

Wll, that is too bad. I hope that you have better luck with your rebuild than I did.

I had a 1980something first version of the Toyota Tacoma p/I which had the rubber diaphragm and bits as my ‘69 SPL. Difference were the length of the lever that goes into the engine block which moved the diaphragm. And the metal to of the pump which had different angles for the inlet/ outlets for the fuel lines.
So after swapping compatible parts, one functional pump cobbled together.

Disassembled and cleaned the third member from the recently acquired parts car.
Half a can of degreaser, a full can of brake clean, a lot of scrapping and about five minutes of blasting with walnut shells. Oh yeah, 15 minutes of masking the innards off!
Thinking of just clear coating it now. If I leave it raw it will stain if it gets any oil or grease on it.
It’s a VERY slippery slope.
I’ll put this 3:70 differential in for my planned Solvang trip, and then most likely put the 4:62’s back in for playing around and just keep this one for long trips.
