I replaced the broken hand throttle cable. Once I got the cable (1.5mm) I cut a slot in the end of the pull handle with a hack saw. Opened up with a drill ,removing the old wire stub, inserted the new cable. Crimped it and soldered, then filed back to original profile. Re-installed leaving some slop in the cable at the throttle arm and voila. Works Ike a charm! Surprised how easy it was
Cheers!

Added mirrors. Hated drilling thru the paint, but measured 24,345 times, drilled once! I like it.

Very sharp looking roadster! Did you dab a little primer paint in the holes before installing the mirrors?

Drove up to Canada yesterday and visited Ross for some parts. Got some floor panels, slotted rotors and rubber goodies. And he threw in a couple tiny cars and a tee shirt.

Coming back through the border really sucked, almost 2 hours. Was going to drive east and cross but the wait times went way up there too.

I finally completed a restoration of my formerly ratty center console. The paint I used on the metal is dull aluminum that came from a paint specialty store, but it's also available online. That seems to be the closest match to the original look of the aluminum.

A local upholstery guy replaced some of the foam and stretched new vinyl over the frame. I used plastic and vinyl dye to make the plastic knob look better, and replaced the rusty cigarette lighter with a generic one from an auto parts store. Had to use a large metal washer to get it to tighten up all the way.
