Repaired the horn wire, which broke on me when I was removing the horn button on my 68. I tried to solder the broken part, but it was too fragile to hold, so I added a short wire, soldered it to the horn button base plate. I then added a new crimp connector to mate with the horn wire. It took a bit of fiddling to get the right location for the new crimp connector, which was much longer. Finally got it all back together & working.

More body work today, down to the hood and drivers door. I wanted to remove the pass. side door, but after searching looks like I have to drill or cut out the door stop. Don't think I want to do that, unless there is another way, feel free to let me know if there is.

So, just unbolt the door and the arm lifts up and straight out? Or is there any clip or pin that needs to be removed? Thanks

The door stop is originally attached to the door with a rivet. If it has not already been drilled out and replaced with somerhing then you will probably have to drill it. The door stop is removed from the inside via a hole.

You remove the pin before the hinges. Right where the link attaches to the door.

Ordered 5 new tires today, 4 white wall and a narrower spare black wall. Finding white walls in 175R70/14 radial is a pain. Most start at 185 width and the Hankook Optimo is no more.

Cleaned up my original lighter and repainted the letters.

My replated hardware will finally be done this week.

Rush job to throw together the center console I built before we went to Watkins Glen. Not super happy with the vinyl job so I will most likely be revamping this pretty soon.

Great concept and still looks pretty good, I would venture to say period correct - despite all the tech!

Decided yesterday I was going to fix the door lock and handle since you could only open it from the outside. The part at the handle was bent. Since I bought two new ones I took one from the restoration car and put it on after some clean up. It now works.

And in a case of WYAII (while you're at it itis) decided to also put in new window channels since the old ones were torn and worn. More cleaning and searching for the used vent handle I bought. The roll of 510 window felt I bought some time ago works perfectly and there is enough for both cars.

The down side is the pillar is rusted out at the bottom hinge and will require repair. I did manage to fix 5 bolt holes that either had a broken bolt or a metric bolt that some idiot put in there. Only one was not repairable. It will get fixed with the pillar.

I decided to convert my HF 40Lb pressure pot sandblaster over to a wet blaster.... never seen it done, but I figured it was possible. It worked, and I started wet blasting the hard to get parts of my 66. Only problem now is the flash rust. I need to find a Good rust inhibitor I can add to the pressure pot that will be safe to prime over.

Took it down off the Jack Stands!! First time on the ground in 2019... should be out of the garage tomorrow but unfortunately not under its own power. Hopefully I’ll be driving it later this week... or next week... or next month... just hopefully not next year
