I blast with ground glass and then use a Craftsman fine wire wheel on my cheapo Harbor Freight buffer. The ground glass gives it a nice matte finish for painting but I will plate so I buff them. The 5 speed drive line is just short enough to fit in my used Eastwood cabinet.

A bit more cleanup today. You can see the difference between the matte finish from blasting and after I wire wheel it. Now I have to tape up two harnesses.

A while back I made some panels for speakers behind the seats. They sound better than I expected and I need to turn the tweets down a bit. Amp went against the firewall in passenger footwell.

I never thought about puting my separate tweeters there. High frequency is directional, but they are close enough to your ears to be heard. I may consider that in the future. Looks great!

Yes, I thought the seats would pretty much block them but I was pleasantly surprised! Now I’m toying with the idea of a removable sub on the rear shelf but I need to design/construct a center console first.

Put the new tonneau cover on and off at least 40 times during the installation of the receptacles for lift the dot and twisty post fasteners. The headrests were removed to allow locating the cover and pre-stretching it over the top.
Installation complete and turned out great after final final stretching in the hot sun.

Ordered the bending die and working on ordering the tubing for a new roll bar.
Ordered parts to build a 347 short block to replace my tired 302.
Replaced my headlights and installed the center for my steering wheel.

Began installing new hard top latches on the car. I need to get some weatherstripping for underneath the rear of the hard top. The latches are nice and tight until I crank dorn on the eye bolts behind the seats. As the eyebolts get tight, the latches go slack. :-) It's no matter. I'm psyched to have the car running again.

Progress has been slow, I wanted to get it started this past spring but, that did not happen. The engine is reassembled, trans is ready to go in. Electrical is about 80%. I did get a new radiator, wheels and tires and recently found a 3rd seat out of Arizona. A couple of months ago I pushed it out of the garage for the first time in four years.

Holy Dashpot Oil! I checked it today and it was low, where does that stuff go? Topped it off in both carbs, need to go for a spin and see if that improved anything...

Added this to my monthly maintenance checklist.

I picked up my 5 speed driveline from Drivelines NW yesterday and dropped off another heater core and overflow tank to Seattle Radiator. Made a blast jig today for cleaning up hardware.

I finally got her DRIVING! Now just need to do literally everything else for this poor girl lol. Next up is to make the underhood fuel lines look pretty, affix the passenger seat and maybe get the lights working.

Picked up my rebuilt heater core, dropped off an oem muffler to have the wheel pipe copied and made a resonator rear insulator. Now I need the L bracket.
