Cooling down after the drive. Just to hot to stop for a pic

Nice drive Ted. We hope to do this one in a couple weeks, only we'll stay overnight somewhere, covid permitting.

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
From last weekend... But it's still interesting, at least to me.
Laguna Seca held a "driver appreciation" event in lieu of the Historics, no spectators, just the cars that everyone wants to run.. We took the Dave McDowell roadster for a run on this beautiful track..
First video is the Sunday morning race, where I started 2nd...
.
Unfortunately we lost a brake bleeder out of the bottom of the rear caliper. All I knew on the track is when I went to the brakes coming into turn 5 the pedal went to the floor.
Kevin looked it over, got a bleeder out of another caliper, and we got the car ready for the afternoon race.
I would be starting last, but would take a run at it and see what I could do..
.
We do not have it apart yet, but it feels like we lost a ring and pinion..
Time to get it in to the driveline shop and figure out what we can do..

Roadster Drive today. Tuesday 8-18-20. 68 SR20. Sunrise on Mt Rainier. 210 miles.
Great day for a drive. Mid 70's and sunny.
Was able to get some space between cars for a spirited assent of the 10 mile Sunrise road.
Also a double fast assent of the nice curvy first 3 miles of the road to the Crystal Mt ski resort.

Roadster Drive Today. Monday 8-24-20. 68 SR20. Arlington Loop. 160 miles.
Nice sunny, cool, mid 70's, Puget Sound day. Drove one of my shorter local routes north along the Cascade foothills to Arlington.
With DROPS members. Dan R. 68 2000. Dave F. 68 2000. It was a test drive for Dave's just revived 68 2000.
Only problem was a squeak from a shock mount!.

Roadster Drive Today. Thursday. 8-27-20. 69 VETC. Mt Baker. Artist Point. 5000'. 280 miles.
Another great DROPS drive today. Mid 70's. Sunny. Perfect weather.
Drove to the view point at the end of the Mt Baker Hwy. A popular destination.
With 4 DROPS members. Dan R, white 68 2000, Dave F, White 68 2000, David N, red 70 2000, Art B 66 1600 blue.

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
Couldn’t make the Mt. Baker drive today but managed to loop around Lake Washington in the afternoon. It was a beautiful sunny day in the low 70s.
While most of the roadsters in our area were driving to Mt. Baker today, Lily and I looped around Lake Washington in the afternoon.
View of Mt. Baker-
The roadster is packed with lunch and ready to go-
Renton Airport-
Lake Washington Blvd. is closed right now from Seward park north to Leschi, a hilltop view of the lake near I-90-
Lakewood Moorage just north of Seward Park-
The marina at Leschi with a view of Mt. Rainier-

Spotted you guys westbound in Sedro Woolley as I was headed home from work. Perfect day for a road trip, either in a drop top or on a motorcycle (2003 HD VRSCA in my case)
Cars looked great, nonetheless, minus the paint..

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
Yep that was Us! Chinook pass is the closest mountain pass to us, so when we decide to do a late day "run to the mountains" it's Chinook. It's awesomely beautiful, and we're so lucky to have these mountains in our back yard. We frequently circumnavigate Mt Rainier, going up the south side of the mountain and taking Skate Creek "road" into Packwood ("road" because there are some frame breaking dips in that road and a real test of the Bilsteins), then 12 north into eastern WA, then over to 410 and back home via Chinook. It's such a great drive... the geology of the volcanic mountains is stunning, the cliffs you drive under can only be appreciated in a convertible, and you can watch the trees change from primarily Douglas fir on the west side to reddish Ponderosa pine on the east. At the top of Chinook there are a couple of small lakes where you can step off the road and into the deep, thick silence of high mountain meadows if traffic is light. On the way down Chinook, we turn the car into a Zero Emissions Vehicle and turn off the engine and coast all the way down the hill... we're talking miles and miles of near silence. There's a shorter route too where you don't go as far into Eastern WA and drive 123 that breaches 410 and 12... that route has a tunnel, and it's always a "second gear to redline" blast through the tunnel... that sound never gets old!
Ted, you and the gang post great drives... but I still haven't figured out your secret "back roads to Index" route! Someday!

Sunday drive
Positive vibes to all those affected by the raging fires right now, and to those helping to fight and assist. Even here in the foothills and valley the haze and smell is very noticeable.

My hearts goes out to you all in CA. We had a horrible fire season last year and the year before where we came out to find the car covered in ash and drove through thick smoke in the passes.

Roadster Drive Today. Thursday. 9-3-20. 69 S2000. Lake Wenatchee. 213 miles.
Great drive today to Dan R's "cabin" on Lake Wenatchee, East of Stevens Pass.
Hot in the am, 90+, but cooled off for the return. Had lunch at a small beach on the lake.
With DROPS members Dan R. 69 2000 white, Dave F. 68 2000 white, Art B. 66 blue.
Rick H, joined us at the start but he had some motor problems that required repair.
Traffic was light with only 2 short road repair projects.
