Drove to a Cars & Coffee event on Saturday. On Sunday drove to the foothills and spent some time with this Hakosuka Skyline
Filmed this from the Skyline while leaving Cars & Coffee, RHD does have its benefits

Sure makes doing donuts easier! My wife and I took her BMW Z3 to a local ski lodge last year. Tried to do some fun hand-brake spins etc with it, but the traction control kept kicking in!

The camera takes a 360 sphere picture. Once you are done, in editing, you can control where it is looking. If I can figure it out, it can be uploaded so you look at it with a phone or VR and you can look wherever you want while watching it.ted heaton wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 12:46 amGreat camera work. The hand gestures started when the Triumph blew up and started dumping oil. I was trying to let the corner workers know it was done and dumping. But in the end, he spun on his own oil going up the hill at turn 3. Unfortunate for the Healey, he spun in the oil too..
PS: Mark in the Elva is really fast, that car is SUPER light, like 1100 pounds or something, powered by a BMW M10 2 liter engine.. But I have a ton of speed on that car, I was being extremely careful around the other cars..

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
Sunny and 75 in NE Oklahoma today, and since the Datsun needed it’s tags renewed it seemed only prudent to drive it there —— the long way No real gas available here in Catoosa also off to Tulsa we go. Stopped along the way for a quick pic of one of the Route 66 signs coming into Tulsa from the East.
On the way back I saw an old Porsche at a small repair/body/used car lot/u-name it shop! I stopped and asked him if I could look in the trunk at the back of the dash wiring since the one I’m working on has most of the wires chewed up and it’s very difficult to figure out where they go. Unfortunately it wasn’t any help since his was a 66 and mine is a 69. Nice young man, we talked about old sports cars for about a half hour. He has a 200sx with a V6 he is working on. Anyway before I left he told me about a roadster sitting behind a couple of old houses about 2 miles up the road. Stopped, checked it out and talked to the owner who said he had tried to sell it a few years ago with no luck so he gave it to his son. I told him he saved himself a lot of money by giving it away the head was off and all the pistons looked to be rusted to the cylinders, oh, and that was about the best part of the car You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Cars are all looking Great!
RCMike, I mistakenly commented on the 72 car last time you posted it, thinking it was the Rock Vest car for some reason... maybe because it ran so Good! Both seem really great. Do you find a lot of differences between them?

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
This was asked recently on another forum, so I copied and pasted..lol The question asked included the comment that they assumed the Vest car was faster..
"actually, on a smooth track, the McDowell car would probably be faster.
The Vest car is more compliant, soaks bumps better, but has more roll. It flexes more, but is more comfortable to drive. It is easier to drive close to the limit, but the limits are not quite as high.
The McDowell car is stiffer, harsher, has higher limits if everything is smooth enough to keep all 4 wheels on the ground.. But with bumps, it will start to bounce and you start to chase it around.
The McDowell car has easily 10 years of development beyond where the Vest car got parked. But the Vest car was so well sorted when it got parked, well..
Lap times? They are close to identical. Rough track Vest is about a half second faster. Smooth track, McDowell is about half a second faster.

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
Roadster Drive today. 3-17-20.
To Mud Mt in the Cascade foothills E of Enumclaw. 127 miles.
Nice Drive with Dan R (68 2000), Steve C (65 1500), Ted (64 1500).
2 Sora Blue 1500s. but different in color, of course!
Overcast high clouds cut the sun but still a good outing with views of Mt Rainier.
We insured the roadsters complied with the current CDC 6' roadster safety distancing recommendation.
(At least at the start.)
