Several months ago, pulled the engine on my 67.5 2000 to replace the clutch. While I was at it, the matching numbers U20 engine was rebuilt. Took her out for it first freeway spin and the car cruised fantastic! Brought it down the muffler shop and had a new exhaust system installed front to back, including the Megaphone exhaust tip.

I did an early morning Ortega highway run. No other cars on the way out and a great run with minor strategy on the way back. Chased a newer Porsche up the grade into El Cariso past the Lookout. Good fun.

Took my son and the roadster to a local car show in Glendora that's held once a month at a hamburger join.

Fun run up to Alice's Restaurant Saturday morning. Great drive on HWY 9 and Skyline at a "fun" pace, had breakfast and blasted down the mountain before it got hot!

I did a late night cruise down to the local Quick Trip for gas and a cold drink. Had to celebrate getting her back on the road after the dashboard rebuild. Who cared that it was 2am?
Got to celebrate those special moments! 8)

Drove to Chinook Pass in the Cascades on Thursday. 220 miles.
Adjusting to the DATSHOND. Good fun (and noise) shifting at 8500 rpm.
Runs pretty strong if you keep it above 6500 rpm where the second cam profiles come on.
Roads are much less crowded after school has started.
Great views of Mt Rainier.

Ted, did I miss a new acquisition? 8500rpm? What's in the beastie? I hear you on the less busy roads during the week. I did an early fall drive of the southeast side of MT St Helens (starting off I5 at Woodland) 2 yrs ago and I don't think I had to slow down for anyone for long... nice huh?

DROVE to our local Datsun Club Meeting. 9-7-19.
NWDE. Northwest Datsun Enthusiasts.
Great turnout of 17 cub members and guests.
8 roadsters (and not a single top up!!). 510, 240Z and a 620 truck.
Don Carlin brought his VERY nice, newly refurbished silver 69 2000 with Mikuni carbs and correct EW foglights.
311s member RBMann showed his new 68-70 shoulder belt retainers. A part that fills a need for sure.
