Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
Roadster Drive today. 5-13-19
Last day before the weather changes, so had to drive. 327 miles.
First Spring drive to Vantage on the Columbia River and further East.
Not too hot in E WA. yet. High 70's today.
First time over Snoqualmie Pass this year and the construction is over!.
NO rolling slowdowns! 3 lanes both sides. Nice.
Vantage Bridge has a new coat of paint.
My frequently photoed barn is now half collapsed.

St.albert , alberta , Canada.
St.Albert Cruisers Autorama Show and Shine. Approx. 200 cars on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Mostly American muscle, I waved the Datsun flag proud. People absolutely loved bed the lil roadster . Lots of questions as usual.
“ what the heck is that
“ I haven’t seen one of those in yearsâ€
“Hey I had one in high schoolâ€
“ I like that more than an MGBâ€
Long live the roadster.

The Turbo Teds drove the Cascade Loop Hwy (3 Passes)today. 5-31-19. 240 miles.
Up Hwy 2 and over Stevens Pass. Down to Leavenworth.
Over Blewett Pass. Down to Cle Elum. Over Snoqualmie Pass.
Stopped to see if 2 Austin Healeys needed any help with broken British parts.
They were with a club tour going to Lake Chelan.
Detoured to Roslyn for well regarded smoked meats at Garek's Market.
Got the roadsters dirty in 2 short Mt rain storms.

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
Drove to our PNW Datsun Club (NWDE) meeting, repair a roadster and Snoqualmie Valley back roads. 6-1-19
We did GOOD today.
Had a great meeting with 15 members/visitors and 7 roadsters and a Z in attendance.
Highlight of the meeting was the unexpected appearance
of our good roadster compatriots, Mitch and Carl, from BC Canada!.
Both their roadsters with correct Nissan roll bars.
Ken Harms drove his (wifes!) newly acquired beautiful 71 240Z.
After the meeting we did a roadster "service call" to help Lachlan get his roadster running
after he messed up his distributor. Real service!. 5 roadsters drove to his place and 8! "mechanics"? helped out.
Luckily we had a real mechanic, Carl from BC, and we resolved the problem in short order. Lachlan was issued demerits
for causing the problem but it was a good learning experience for him.
Mitch and Carl drove to Teds place for a visit after the meeting and I guided them on my favorite back roads
on their way North.
For you folks that know Carl, Check out the picture of him and I.
Yes, that is really Carl!!. Lost 80 lbs in the last 4 months.
All of us had to be assured that it was really Carl when we first saw him.
AMAZING change and improvement.

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
I went to the first annual Colleyville car show on Saturday. Found a shady spot.
I took a couple of these with me to enjoy with a few of my friends that showed up. At the end of the day a gentleman came up to me and told me he has a 69 2000 in his garage with a spare driveline he would like for me to take a look at and he's no more than a half of mile from my house. All in all it was a great day
It goes without saying I was the only roadster there. It was a great mix of cars from vintage iron to Ferraris. Not to be confused with Alvin I'm not a great photographer of all things automotive, lol. Only now do I realize I should’ve take out my phone and documented some of the more unique vehicles. I know if there’s no pictures it didn't happen. I took a couple of these with me to enjoy with a few of my friends that showed up. Roadster Drive today. 6-3-19
Beautiful day in the Cascades. Drove to Chinook Pass. 223 miles.
East on HWY 410 with side trips on 2 very nice, highly recommended, roads.
FS RD #70 About 2 miles East of Greenwater. 10 miles of paved forest road.
Crystal Mountain Resort road. Just at the Mt Rainier Park entrance. 6 miles. Recently repaved. Very fast, if you want. Did it Twice!
Chinook Pass was amazingly uncrowded. Monday, before school Summer vacation. Hardly any traffic.
Reminder that this very roadster is for sale. You too could be driving a roadster this Summer. The more I drive the 66 KA roadster the more I like it but I will be OK with selling it. I will just have to drive one of my other roadsters!
$22K. Scenery not included.
Ted.

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
Fool's Errand TT (informal backroads drive) this weekend, Glendale to Paso Robles for an overnite, ~350 miles per day of all backroads twisties.
Epic roads. Small group (~12 cars, a few from Central Cal Volvo club joining up for local drives and gearhead talk at the motel stop)
Day 1 was very bumpy, lots of solar farms installed had convoys of trucks chewing up the roads (and mucho rain hasn't helped their condition).
Day 2 was great, much smoother. Wide expanse of weather, including a squall or two and some water crossings to liven things up a bit.
Definite benefit to doing a "weekend" run on Sunday + Monday, as tourist traffic much reduced.
Turns out trying to take dynamic on-road pictures with an Ipad does not work well, and our pace was a bit too "spirited" for picture stops.
PIcs are of the congregation at the coffee house start.
This is a "run what you brung" event, with pre-75 the theme, but if your ride breaks down last minute, drive your DD and suffer the slings and arrows from the peanut gallery. (mixed metaphor?)
Example: VW squareback fried his alternator 5 miles from the start, so he flatbedded it back home (60 miles east!) picked up the keys to wife's Jeep, hopped in and caught back up to us and did the rest of the twisties with us in the "high Cg demonstration device". Special award for persistence.
