Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
While visiting CA, I borrowed the silver car (now sans sidepipes) from roadsterdude on Sunday and went for a spirited drive up Mt Umunhum with the usual suspects.

^^^Great blast up to Mt. Umunhum with the oppositelock and bikermike on Sunday. I was impressed with the Silver car's performance after sitting for so long!
I also squeezed in a short drive Saturday

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
No Pix as yet - phone dead.
Just completed 'Bottom Buster Motor Tour - 3 days - @1K miles - Pasadena to Paso Robles, r/t to Paso Robles and then home.
Some wonderful roads,
Carmel Valley Road and Nacimiento/Fergusson to name a couple.
Weather was perfect for driving - and my makeshift 'bimini' top did the job of keeping the sun's rays from beating down on me. All the comforts of a convertible top without that claustrophobic feeling.
This is a 'free' event - no badges, swag etc. - just roads, cars and company.
One of the many spinoffs from the No Frills Iron Bottom Buster Motor Tour.
Not too many cars unfortunately and a few too many moderns, from memory, 3 Porsche 911 types, 2 Z's, Sunbeam Alpine, Alfa, '15 Charger, Eric's Beemer, the Kenya Tribute Comet (love that car), Fiat 124 with unusual front end treatment, and a DNS/DNF Bristol 404(?) with some of the most extreme patina I've seen. Poor fellow drove from San Jose, transmission went out in Paso, and so AAA did its job of towing him home.
The participants were kind and gracious and it felt good to get back on the road with my new, as yet unnamed, 1970 1600. Car ran well, pulled respectably up grades and was quite happy to 'sing' at 80+, haven't checked MPG yet, but given the speeds and typically running in 3rd on the twisties, don't think it's going to be THAT great!
Definitely well worth carving out some time next year to attend - likely to be FOUR days so we can go further inland - Utah maybe??
Ed didn't make it this year due to a mixup in 'shotgun' allocation.

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
Not a weekend day, but still counts. Left at dawn from Paso and drove to Big Sur and met some friends for breakfast. Afterward we headed north and stopped at Bixby Bridge PCH to pick up another friend. 3 fast Porsches with 3 great drivers LOVE this Roadsters chops for running strong and stable on the confined twisties all the way out Carmel Valley to Greenfield.

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
After a GREAT Solvang show, David E and I took a rather long, but awesome start to the drive home.
101 north, Palmer Cyn, Foxen Cyn, Tepusquet Rd., 166, Hudson Ranch Road, Lockwood Valley Rd., 33 south into Ojai.
About 200 miles total and over 120 miles of it was back country twisties. Very beautiful.
It was very misty until near the peak of Tepusquet, then sun until dropping back into Ojai.
Thanks Peter for connecting David and I for the drive.

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
So jealous, know those roads and if I were staying overnight would have been there with you. So glad you both had fun.
So, next year, how about making Solvang a MAJOR driving event. Early meet in valley, MAJOR drive to Solvang and MAJOR home. On some of the NFIMBT we did 250+ each day. Anyone up to that for 2020? There are the roads, we have the cars, we have the time. What say you??
OR, EVEN, MAJOR drive to Solvang on Thursday, MAJOR roundtrip back to Solvang on Friday and MAJOR drive home on Sunday.
Takers, planners??
Thoughts - roadsters are made to RUN. Let's RUN them!!

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
Went to Fontana to watch RCMIKE run. Both cars on parade lap - awesome. Only TWO real contenders on race and Mike was WAY gone. Fun to watch, but he had NO competition. New roadster sounds AWESOME, hope to see it at FULL chat soon.

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
If hope Friday afternoons count as part of the weekend. I asked my wife if she wanted to go to lunch but didn't tell her I wanted to go 75 miles up the Payette river on Highway 55 to the town of Cascade. It is a two lane road and pretty curvey. I got a little carried away on the way up which seemed to have her holding on pretty tightly. I think because about 85% of the trip is along the river with no guard rails it kinda bothered her. Right now the way most of the river is flowing it would be considered as class V or VI rapids.
I didn't have anyplace in particular to go to lunch so I just found a cafe in town and we had a nice lunch. I took it much easier coming home and she enjoyed it much more. The car ran awesome and it was a perfect day for it, nice and sunny and warm. I could get used to things like this.
