Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

Last weekend I drove in the Coastal Range Rally. I did not drive my roadster, but I was happy to see Kevin (aka "Mr Guts") and Heather driving their '69 SPL (you all know as "Spike)! Out of 100 or so entrants you can imagine what car I photographed the most over the 3-day, 1200-mile event

Cheers to Kevin, this is how you Enjoy The Ride in a Datsun Roadster!

On Day 3 we ended our journey back north with a stop at Laguna Seca to watch some vintage races. Bumped into Mike Stubbs!
The lightweight roadster (ex-Carolla/Cannaday) and a few Datsun 510s:

Indeed! We made the Coastal Range Rally with Spike. An overwhelmingly positive experience on so very many levels. The friendships, the roads, the scenery, the most legit and sincere selection of cars I have ever experienced. No joke.

And Spike is an incredible Roadster. The car was either loved and respected to the utmost degree or unnoticed by those with other interests. My kind of car. Appreciated for what it is. Which is AWESOME!

The roadster had 0 issues over the 1000 miles. The upgrades and prep won the day there. Back home in the garage, NO LEAKS!

And the driving was intense! We did not parade. We hung right in there on Lake Huges Rd with a VERY fast 911, a 240Z driven by Alvin and an AWD Mitsu Evo. Video soon! Also hung for 15 miles on Lockwood Valley Rd with an M3, a GT4 and Alvin in the 240Z. The owner of the $200k Porsche GT4 for voted Spike in the events one award, 'peoples choice' because as he said, 'I love how hard you rock that Roadster'. I will leave the rest to the witnesses of the event to break it down further.

I will say that I am so pleased with this accomplishment and recognize that it is due largely to the work done to this car by those involved in its past and friends like Dave Premo who checked in on me often as I made repairs and upgrades. Also appreciate Kevin Desirellos products and Harlans encouragement in our ownership of this car.

Looking forward to Solvang and more great roadster people

Turbo Teds Roadster drive Tuesday 3-19-19
Beautiful "Summer" day before Winter is over.
TOO nice to not go for a drive. 77 in Enumclaw. 160 miles.
External fuel pump failed on the KA roadster but easy half hour replacement.

+1! So glad you're getting the full Roadster experience!

I'm so jealous of Ted et al's drives with my car down... grrrrr. And she may remain down for some time as I struggle with getting my block issues figured out. Guess it will be up to my wife's Z3 to fill the role for now...

64 3 seat 1500 Roadster drive today. 3-20-19
Last day of our early Summer in the PNW. Sunny and low 80's.
Drove my favorite roadster, the 64 3 seat 1500, for a tour of the Skagit valley. About 200 miles.
Saw all the early season Skagit Valley check list features.
Mt Baker, Ocean, Barns, Cabbage, Geese, Tulips, Big Boats, Eagles, Blue berry plants starting to leaf out.
Pebbles was excused as he was visiting his Mom. Always good and high priority. 2 merits for being the "good son".

Having rebuilt the front suspension, what better to break the new parts in with then an early morning spin across Ortega Highway and back. Then later it was so nice I drove along the beach. Rustbucket

Lots of cool stuff to see, but I am really excited for a fellow roadster owner that stopped by

Went on a short 40ish mile cruise. Somewhat spirited group, but we managed to keep up with most of them.. Troy Ermish and Wayne Brewer are just too fast..lol

3rd overall, 1st in class..

This car is just too much fun..

Edit: oh yeah, someone remind me to put some gas in the car next time..
