I took my 16-year old daughter out for lunch (via a 150-mile drive) in the roadster yesterday-- we had an amazing day (though it was VERY cold!)

Happy New Year everyone!

Terrorized the freeways, drove fast, ate lunch, did roadster stuff and had a great time.

70 degrees and sunny in Catoosa today, more like spring than winter! Even though I have a pretty bad cold, I couldn't resist. Drove around for an hour or so and enjoyed the wonderful weather. I stopped at the Tulsa Port of Catoosa an snapped a quick picture in front of their original tugboat, the Charlie Border. There are over 70 businesses in the port shipping and receiving mostly oil field, steel, and agricultural products to and from ports all over the world. You can, and many have, take your personal boat from the Port of Catoosa all the way to the Gulf of Mexico.

The first nice days of the new year in the Seattle area so got in my first 2019 Roadster (64 1500) drive.
About 3 hrs and 100 miles. SUNNY but a little nippy.
In the Snoqualmie Valley on some favorite roads near Monroe.
High Bridge and Ben Howard.

Drove up to Mount McDowell near Mesa. One of the few times of year with great weather in AZ. Took a few cool pictures.

Ron,
You have Mardi Gras coming up! Get your Krewe together and drive! Or a little Creedance Clearwater and head for the Bayou....
Or a late night gumbo run?
Dang, now I’m starving ..lol
Yeah this is a fun thread

Area looked beautiful. Then I looked and noted that you're 16 and the Datsun is your first car... I just love that. I've had my car for 33 years, was age 21 when I first saw it drive by me. Found her again under a pile of snow at age 22, and my life changed forever cause I bought it! I have no doubt you're having a great time in that car... we have the exact same year. I've taken a number of odds and ends off my car over the years, probably will never go back on the car, so let me know if you across some thing you need and I'll see if I some how saved it or have extras... their yours, no cost no ship, free.

Needed to move my Roadster from the shop to the garage (garage heated, shop not) and, well, you know it's just not good to start a car and not get it up to tempature. AND, it was in the upper 50s with lots of sun, so of course with no top I had no choice other than to take advantage of this fine day. When turning off the county road into my rural neighborhood I took the 90* turn a little hot :D and while double clutching got my big foot stuck between the brake and gas pedal. So here I am, pushing on the brake and the gas at the same time, under steering like crazy, and headed for the ditch! So my instinct says hard on the brake, but my experiences says let off the brake. It took a split second for experience to overcome instinct and I got an Oh S++T moment! One of the downfalls of getting old, along with wearing size 11 shoes instead of 9s like I did when I first got the car. My youngest son and his wife came over just as I got home and they commented on how the car was emmiting an odd odor. When I explained why, my son said, "good to know that I'll never grow out of it" and his wife said thanks a lot :D :D
