Looks like it was a good time. Im really liking the tan top on the white. Im guessing you are slowly going to convert it all to black?

BTW Did you get my last PM?

As far as the interior and top go I am done. I like the tan top and the carpet now really brings it all together. I'll look again at your last message....Don't remember seeing one.

Down the gravel road to the new cabin. Beautiful in northwestern WI! A little chilly with 40 degrees and rain. But the top is up...

Thanks for posting Dave. We had a great weekend, talked with a lot of Datsun fans. Quite a few Datsun's, Z's and 510's racing. I talked for a long time with the crew chief of one of the faster 240z's out of Connecticut, Dereck. He has a 1968 roadster so we compared notes. The # 11 roadster was really nice looking too.

Sunday, Funday. Quick stroll in my 67 2000. Still shaking out the bugs after a major overhaul.

Had a great drive, then lunch with my son, Eliot who is home for the weekend from College. Of course, we loaded up the roadster with provisions from Trader Joe's before his trek back to school

SoCal TT. a 2 day backroads "hunt for the twisties" event for pre-75 cars of all makes and types (though most sports cars).
200 miles Saturday, about 300 Sunday. Pics contained in attachment. (?)
Gearheads galore.

Out to Desert Hot Springs (backside of the Palm Springs windmills) and back thru the mountain twisties.
Rain added a whole new element, even after it had stopped because of the dirt flows in the low-lying areas. (and cars that are ground-clearance-challenged..)

A fun time had by all.
WP_20181013_009.jpg
About 28-30 cars in total.
Quite the eclectic mix of vehicles, with a measure of “post-1975 cheaters” along which made it fun as well.

“Cheaters”: (6) 70’s-80’s Porsches, (2) Dodge Omni Horizon turbos, a 19 foot long ’78 Buick Electra convertible, a unicorn Alfa Romeo sedan.
(unicorn not only in that you never see one, but even more rare is that it also ran the whole time as well)

The two breakdowns were both modern Mazda products. (the Miata, and then the 63 Midget has had an RX7 LSD rear end installed, and the wheel studs backed out one-by-one until….)

Kinda strange considering all the vintage rolling hardware.

Weather put an interesting spin on “spirited driving” on Saturday, including experimenting whether wipers work (Rain-X is da bomb!) and finding all the leaks in rubber seals.

Quite the strange looks from all of the off-road community out enjoying themselves in the mud. (but that response is kinda one of the goals of these events!)

On Sunday I drove up to Mt. Umunhum with Mike (bikermike) and his '67.5 SPL. My friend Andy also joined us in his NB Miata.

I love this drive because its freshly paved and full of turns. If you can get past the roughness of Hicks Rd., Umunhum is a dream to drive. I tried to capture it, albeit with one hand:

How do the carbs handle the increase in elevation? I need to do that drive someday. Hicks Rd is my old stomping ground, but somehow Ive never made the trek up to Umunum

It"s not that extreme. The show at Shasta city is higher in elevation than the top of Umunhum.
The view from up there at night though looking down on the Silicon Vally is absolutely incredible! (but also illegal)
